I recently bought a SSD for my PS5, it is the Samsung 980 Pro. As the manufacturer say, there is a “Smart thermal solution” that manages heat on its own. Many people don't put any heatsink but others do.

Many SSDs don't come with one and as the SSD is in an enclosed space with no airflow the heatsink would not actually be able to do anything. Sure it's good to have one but if you buy a good SSD like a Samsung 980 Pro that doesn't have one, it will work just as good.
